Dear Mr J.G.H., What luck that you did not, in your haste, turn to a translation tool like Google Translate, our free Internet colleague ... it won’t do to speak ill of one’s colleagues, even the virtual ones. But just how many thousands of euros were at stake? And who would have been responsible for the accuracy of the translation? Mr Google? Technology is evolving rapidly and virtual translation services, which brought only a weary smile to our lips just 5 years ago, have since become competitors: when it comes to simple, standardized and linguistically unchallenging texts. But as long as years of professional experience, linguistic studies and specialization in legal translations, the result of human action and reason and situational knowledge can only be stored in human heads, we, the specialised translators, will remain unrivalled and irreplaceable when it comes to specialised translations of this kind. And should the need arise, our sworn or duly authorised translators will confirm the completeness and accuracy of the translation and place their seal upon it, so that it can be accepted for submission to government authorities.
